HOW TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN CHINESE! (我的名字！)

First and foremost, we have to learn how to introduce ourselves, in chinese we would call that as 自我介绍(zìwǒjièshào) . So our topic for today is, 《我的名字》(wǒ de mínɡzì)！Introducing oneself would include name, age and your occupation. We make it as simple as possible. Are you ready? Let's check it out!
"Hi!". I guess a lot of you have heard chinese greeting at least once in your life. It's 你好(nǐhǎo). The link below is how to pronounce 你好(nǐhǎo) correctly ;) Let's practice pronouncing 你好(nǐhǎo) together!
2. Introduce your name
When you introduce yourself, your name is very important. After a hi, you would usually go with your name. It doesn't matter if you don't have a chinese name (cat jiejie can help pick a chinese name for you if you'd like to ;)), just straightly say your real name. For instance "Hi, my name is cat jiejie", so that would be:
你好，我叫cat jiejie (nǐhǎo, wǒ jiào cat jiejie)
3. Your age
For some, to mention your age is something that you'd never do， it's considered a taboo! But sometimes, in a quite formal situation, in school or when you're asked about your age, you have no choice but to mention it.
"Years old" = 岁(suì). So if you're 10 years old (yes, I hope little kid will come to read my blog)= 十岁(shí suì).
The full sentence: "I'm 10 years old this year" ---- “我今年十岁”(wǒ jīnnián shí suì).
Start your sentence with 我今年......” wǒ jīnnián...... and then add your age. Cat jiejie will show you an example. Cat jiejie is 24 years old this year, so I'll say 我今年二十四岁(wǒ jīnnián èrshísì suì).
Oh, and you can learn about numbers here! You need to know about numbers before you can say out your age. It's easy peasy, believe me!
4. What do you do?
Next, let's tell others what do you do, in short, are you working right now? Or are you a student? If you are, then where do you study and in which year are you currently in? For instance, you're a student in a primary school, so it'd be: "I'm a student studying at SK Bandar Tasik Puteri. I'm currently in 2nd year" “我是SK BANDAR TASIK PUTERI 的学生，我在读二年级(wǒ shì SK BANDAR TASIK PUTERI de xuéshēnɡ，wǒ zài dú èr niánjí). 我是：I am 的学生：student of 我在读：I'm currently studying in(which year)
Let's listen to an example!
If you're working, then it's easier. The sentence would be 我是+your occupation (wǒ shì+your occupation). For an example, you're a teacher, so it'd be: 我是老师(wǒ shì lǎoshī)

So, we're done with all the basics! Let's try to make a full sentence of a self introduction! Remember, you have to 1) greet 2) mention your name 3) tell them your age 4) your occupation/ what do you do in life
1) 你好，我叫+(your name)
nǐhǎo，wǒ jiào+(your name)
2) 我今年+(age)+岁
wǒ jīnnián+(age)+suì
3)
(i) 学生（student）：我是+(which school)+的学生，我在读+(grade)+级
